The Fun Side of Sobriety

Posted on Posted in HER Blog

The rigid thinking of addiction robs you of everything, including joy and imagination. In recovery you learn to build positive solutions to elevate your life without getting high. All the fun stuff begins when you stop using. It's time to stop lamenting what you'll leave behind (it needs to go), and start looking to the future.

Get Inspired

Many clients struggle with questions like, “How am I supposed to have any fun without drugs and alcohol?” The answer is, “any way that you want.” In early recovery, your brain has forgotten how much life has to offer without the cloud of addiction masking all the good stuff.

The sky is the limit when it comes to finding healthy alternatives to have fun. The world is chalk full of choices that build you up as you empower yourself into a new reality. Once you can open your mind to the possibilities, make your list. You’ve taken your life back, and now it’s time to start really living.

Here’s a list of some of our favorite sober activities to help you get started. All things are possible in recovery!
